Ok, this is tutorial on how to install EL Capitan on non AHCI motherboards, and on any PC, you won't find this anywhere on the web. Sorry about broken microphone. Visit our Website -My Specs- - motherboard - P5N-d 750i SLI - No AHCI, legacy bios.

Ahci Port Error
PCI-e's transfer capacity is very lower, but work well. I think you don't feel it slow. Interesting solution for SATA 6 capability (and AHCI SATA mode) for those older PCs that can be limited to SATA 1.5 or SATA 3 specs. You just used a PCIe x1 riser cable, right?
Note that some of those Dell BIOS can actually be modified to unlock AHCI SATA mode for the motherboard controller. On unmodified BIOS, I understand AHCI is implicitly available by selecting RAID mode (without actually configuring any RAID array).
I've been using such a modified BIOS on my own Vostro 200 for the last 3 years or so and been running with the onboard controller SATA mode set to AHCI since. Details are available and. Thanks for your experienced comment as prompt action. OK, I already tested Vostro 200 and Inspiron 530. I know that's works very well with modded BIOS from BIOS-MODS forum.
You can check a lists, I made it. But is for LGA 771 to 775 relation to OSX. I will post another thread. I tested G33 mother board without AHCI mods, A RAID mode to set also, I didn't succeeded with IOATAFamily mods on these DELLs. I'm not sure before OSX10.7.And additional to say, See my list, I succeed to set a RAID few DELLs works no issue. Let me know if you found my misunderstanding without my very bad English.lol. Oh boy!!! I tried many times, I don't know why I didn't.
I'm gonna try it soon. This thread is kind of useless.Sorry for that About 10 min latter.
I tried out, Installer doesn't see HDD even if set to RAID. I used MyHack latest one 10.9.1 on the USB stick. That's also shorter way to use SATA3 Asmedeia card. Vostro 200 is the G33M-02 motherboard, I had it was long time ago. I forgot How to Install to use with it. Vostro 200 was succeeded with RAID That can be possibly so. I think flashed a AHCI BIOS soon after bought that.
Vostro 400 is G33M-03 Motherboard for QuadCore, Little deferent I think. Thank you for tell me. I'm very happy t o confirm the installer. I appreciate to care my thread.
OK, I wanna tell you Vostro 400 and Inspiron 545 are same circuit board, I succeeded they are same method to install OSX without network. I think that was reported for other Dell desktops like some Optiplex 745 or 755. I didn't know that, That's sound very interesting for me. They need also SATA3 card.
My DELL's start point is little deferent from other guys. I'm Mac Pro user and had thinking up grade it everyday.
LGA771 XEON cpu can install on many DELL desktops. And they can also run OSX. Gigabyte and Asus.Them mother boards are similar with OSX, But they does not to work OSX if put a XEON. PS: Do you still have a vostro 200? You can use X5270 ( 3.5GHz 6M-cache ), If you have a any time to try it.
Configuration of my laptop: I have oldy Asus F80s laptop, with 'not-so-low' specs. ATI Mobility Radeon 3470 HD ( working on Snow Leopard ) - Intel Core2Duo 2.0 ghz - Atheros AR5007EG ( working ) - 3 GB RAM - 250 GB HD You will need: - Another computer with Macintosh OR any file explorer ( too see hfs+ files ).
I had one big problem - OS X installer won't see my HDD drive. But what i should to do when there's no AHCI mode in BIOS? Let's solve it. Those kexts i was needed to make my OS X see Serial ATA harddrive (attached) - IOATAFamily.kext - AppleNForceATA.kext - AppleVIAATA.kext First method. Write your OS X image to any flash drive.
Then drop kexts to '/System/Library/Extensions' OR just use kext installer ( recommended ). If you don't see 'System' folder on your Mac then just open Terminal and type: 'defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE' and then 'killall Finder' to restart Finder. But if you use another file explorer then just drop those kexts. Try to install now. You will see your SATA Drive in device list. If first method WON'T work or install fails then try next ( harder procedure ). Disconnect your SATA Harddrive.
Get USBtoSATA controller. ( Uses in portative hdds ) 3. Write your OS X image to any flash drive. ( DO NOT DROP KEXTS THERE ) 4.
Connect your HDD which is connected via USBtoSATA controller. Your installer will see your HD without any kexts.
Asce 7 10 chapter 30. The new edition also includes problems at the end of each chapter along with an online solutions manual.
Install it on yours HDD which connected via usbtosata controller. When install finishes, it can stuck at 'Still waiting for root device' or 'USBF' log. Shut down your computer. Disconnect USB HDD, connect it to any computer.
IF YOU USE MACINTOSH - then show all hidden files, and drop kexts which i attached to 'System/Library/Extensions'. IF YOU USE ANOTHER FILE EXPLORER or OS - then just drop those files to same directory. Safe disconnect your USB HDD. Disconnect your HDD from USB2Sata controller. Connect your HDD back to 'original place'. Try to launch it.
OS X should start without any errors. Tested on Mountain Lion ( 10.8.4 ) and Snow Leopard ( 10.6.6 - 10.6.8 )! 755.3KB 2058 downloads 50.1KB 1846 downloads 348.96KB 1972 downloads. Thank you so much, I've been at this for hours - It was so exciting to finally see the NTFS drives appear in disk utility My machine is an ASUS F83Se, SiS 671 chipset Radeon Mobility HD 4570 graphics, running 10.9 mavericks prepared by the myHack app.
I had to tweak a few other things to get the usb installer to boot however, At first it would with ' still waiting for root device', this was fixed by passing USBBusFix=Yes alongside -v -f when starting up Second, bluetooth kexts caused the boot to hang, I just deleted all 3 bluetooth kexts to solve. Lastly, it seemed to stick at DSMOS has arrived, passing GraphicsEnabler=No solved this one.
I have iAtkos L2 (Lion) installed on my hackintosh and working fine. I downloaded Niresh's Mavericks as he said this will work without AHCI in one of his posts. I can install it but then it gets stuck on the apple logo. If I use IOATAFamily.kext it gives me a kernel panic. In iAtkos L2 there was a kext clearly named 'No AHCI' which I selected while installing and everything installed fine.
Why is Niresh's one so complicated? Please provide clear instructions. This is my ONLY problem. I don't have AHCI. Niresh said I can install mavericks without AHCI. I've searched this forum for people with similar problem but you people just seem to steer away from this AHCI thing? How do I install mavericks WITHOUT AHCI (Niresh said it can be done)??
This is getting really annoying man. I have the exact same problem. Is there any fix for that? I installed it successfully, but when I try to boot into OS X, the apple logo appears, the spinning thing appears, but it never boots. After spinning stops, the monitor says 'No VGA signal' although the computer stays on. Try to use another DVI Port i had the same issue but this is, when OS X recognizes your 2nd DVI-Port as 1st.
I also have the Problem on my pc, i can run it on AHCI without Problems but Windows is on an RAID, so i got no AHCI but SCSI OS X can't recognize my HDDs on RAID or IDE but it does work on ahci.
